Rating: 5 / 5 Truffles is located right on east Main street in Milford, making it a nice, centrally located restaurant for many. It's a high end wine bar that serves numerous wine flights for your sampling pleasure. The food was all delicious! We had wild mushroom soup with truffle oil, which was rich and flavorful. The rice was perfect with the herb crusted salmon filet, and the pepper encrusted tuna was like a delicious piece of sushi with spicy pepper on the edges. There's a fireplace going in one corner and only a few tables in the main dining area, so your experience is generally quiet and relaxed. The waitstaff is very attentive. The waiter made it a game to try to keep my water glass filled - and I really do drink a lot of water when I'm eating! We returned there recently with a friend from England, who was very impressed with the wine list. Again, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the spot by the fire was quite nice. I had the mushroom soup again which I loved. The sashimi-like appetizer was quite delicious and the main dish of salmon was again very tasty. Yes, I suppose I could have ordered something else but it was so nice the first time that I saw no need to change :) The owner and chef hang out at the bar in the evening so you can sit and talk with them about the food you ate and the wine lists. While the restaurant is up-scale, it's also very relaxing and makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended, but it's a bit expensive.
